7-2 Vacation H.W. Due Monday 11/26
1) Review Richard Wright’s “The Ethics of Living Jim Crow”
2) Richard Wright uses prose and dialogue to describe the actions in “The Ethics of Living Jim Crow.” What are the differences in the way Wright describes the events of the story? How would you characterize his descriptions of events using prose? How would you characterize his description of events using dialogue? Use at least one example of each form of writing to help support your answer.
3) Read the first chapter of -Of Mice and Men.
a) With post-it notes write what being said for each page of the chapter. (In one -two sentences)
b) Find at least two places in the text that are significant, interesting, or confusing. Then explain your comment. (Use a post-it to write the page # and idea you think is important.)
