1) Students will write a formal repsonse to the question: What is the most significant idea in the text “Little Things are Big” by Jesus Colon? Explain your response and support it with a quotation from the text that shows your reasoning. (Paper should be written in five paragraphs, double-spaced, and Times New Roman 12 point font. Paper should have a heading and title also.)

2) Read Gary Soto’s Biography and “7th Grade”
Respond to the reading in green explaining: What is being said?
Respond to the reading in blue Monitoring for Meaning: What is significant, important or confusing? Why?

3) Those of you that have not picked up your reading packets you need to do so immediately. Remember you can’t get a reading packet if you don’t have your parent’s letter signed and $3.00.
